A New Life In Sunset Valley

August 8, 2009

The Way girls, having just moved out of their parents’ home and into their own in Sunset Valley, say goodbye to their elder mother (Doing this, Amber learns that it is not a good idea to imply that someone’s mother is a llama when the mother is standing right there, especially when the mother in question is your mother) and set off for their new home.

After having made the entire move by herself with no help from her twin sister, Julia sets off into town in search of relaxation of some kind before the first day of work as a Snitch tomorrow. Home certainly isn’t the place for that, because Amber is there as far as Julia knows. But what is she doing there?

Screenshot-7

That would be taking a call from her childish father. Though she’s not screaming at him, it doesn’t seem like she’s particularly enjoying this conversation – her hatred of children is to blame.

Meanwhile, Julia has found a quiet place to surf the web. I was going to have her join a book club to satisfy her want, but something caused her to repeatedly bang her head on the keyboard. I watched her do this for about a minute until someone approached her, wishing to sit in her seat and use his laptop. Out of free will, Julia stood and introduced herself to him like the friendly sim that she is.

After a short chat, he immediately took her seat, so Julia decided it was time to go.

As she was walking away, Julia spotted the bachelor family having a picnic in the park. She remembers how, growing up, her family could never do this because Amber never wanted to. Julia gets an idea that her family could have a picnic, and straight away, she takes off toward her parents house on her bike.

At the pool, Amber has an idea as well. Hers is more along the lines of showing off her new bikini, though.

Before that’s possible, though, she spots her new boss, Zelda Mae. A little schmoozing for a promotion couldn’t hurt.

Screenshot-15

As often happens, Amber gets very rude, very fast. Seeing no promotion in the near future unless she kicks butt at the guitar, she decides to go home rather than stay here with her now-angry boss.

Screenshot-16

Julia is going that way, too, now, after finding her parent’s house empty. When she gets home, she doesn’t look too happy to see Amber there.

Screenshot-4

Amber looks less than thrilled, too.

Screenshot-18

When they’re done glaring at each other, I let them act of their own accord with free will. Julia chooses to read (as she does with every spare second of her days) in Amber’s room, and Amber just checks herself out in her mirror. They don’t interact at all for the whole day.

Screenshot-19

At this point, Amber was exhausted, so I let her go to bed. Julia wasn’t quite there yet, so I let her read another book. After that, she went outside to stargaze with her telescope so she could gain a logic skill point for her job.

Julia finally went to bed, trying to get the best night’s sleep she could for her first day on the job tomorrow.

This is really good! They’re such a funny personalities and you write + take pictures so well that it’s hard to believe that this would be your first blog story… or is it? O_O One of the funniest things was Amber calling her own mother a llama XD

For me the link to the next or previous post came automatically O_O It might depend on which “theme” you’re using… And the button “go to the beginning” isn’t really working for me either XD I just made it that way that I made a page (there’s a such thing as “pages” and you can create new ones) called “go to the beginning” and there I pasted the link to my first page… but of some reason, always when I add new post, the link to my first oage will be different, and I have to change the link to lead to the real first page over and over again XP (If u understand what I mean). I’m sooo bad with this technology!

Yeah, I saw the “to the beginning” link on your site…and I made one, but how did you get it to the top of your homepage?

    • Samantha said

to do the “go to the beginning” link like what is on my blog and on Alice and Kev blog make an intro post that is considered a sticky (where it says this post will be published immediately the option above it is where the sticky option is located also if you quick edit the post it can be found there) if you are making an intro post that you don’t want to show up in the middle of your story you can change the date where it says immediately to a date before your first story post. The link to the beginning should be to the first post…visit the post and copy the url and then use that as the link.

not sure if thats even what ya’ll needed but thought i’d try, lol

haha, i tried, but couldn’t find anything about a sticky…

do a quick edit of the post, its easier to see there…don’t go into edit mode….just hover over the post ya wanna edit and some links will appear, quick edit is one of them…sticky is a check mark box there
